Steering Group agreed tasks - as at 13 August 2023
Kia ora Whanau
Our first steering group meeting was held today.
Present: Geoff Mullen, Todd Ashton, Kathy Ashton, Sandra Sievwright and Tony Cutting
Apologies: Robert Mullen
The purpose of this meeting was to assign people to tasks (information gathering) in specific areas related to Block4A.
After brief introductions, Tony Cutting asked if we should break the Block into two projects. NB: Governance and Trusts investigation will cover both. The group agreed to this approach.
Top of the Block “The Hill” (longer term project)
Seaside Block (shorter term project)
The view is there may be some time before we will be able to access the top block, and although we will start working on this mahi now, we should not hold up creating a benefit for whanau utilising the seaside block sooner rather than later.
It is noted that Kathy will be helping Todd out until Christmas, at which time he will have recovered from his eye surgery and will no longer need this support.
The following people were assigned to the following tasks
Governance & Trusts
Geoff & Robert
Succession of Shares
Sandra & Todd/Kathy
Business Options
Tony
Seaside block Options
Todd/Kathy & Tony
Whanau - Talent Pool Creation
Robert
Whanau are invited to share information and ideas with the contacts for each task. The contact details are on the home page of this website.
Remember these people are gathering information only - decisions will be made by the greater whanau via voting at the appropriate hui..
The Steering Group will meet monthly, but any information that they have to share will be posted to this website on a more regular basis so that all whanau can see progress and can provide feedback and ideas..
We are working to have clear timeframes on tasks over the next 2-3 months; NB, some tasks may take more time to understand actual times due to decisions beyond our immediate control.
The Steering Group discuss having a whanau camp this summer (on the Seaside Block) where whanau can come and meet each other. More information on this will be available soon.
